Heavy promotes Fiction from the Mad Professor ...

Will the real Mad Professor please stand up ... because we know he will not show his face or come out from behind his curtain in his fantasy Land of Canada Oz ....

As posted on Procraps4u2:

Madprofessor   Posted: Thu Mar 07, 2013 2:15 pm  I was told that you can find this little tidbit over on Heavy's board.

Well I make faaaaaaaar more money trading triple-leverage ETF's than I do from playing craps; however, craps is MUCH more fun.The most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Now how many times have we all read that the great Madprofessor only made his money from the craps table and had no other source of income, therefore making him a professional craps players.

Lets look at two quotes from his book in chapter 1 on page 17 of The  Mad Professor's Crapsshooting Bible.

I make my living strictly by playing craps.

I have been playing the game this way since 1990. My worst year since turning professional still managed to produce a net profit of $100,000. Resent years have proven to be even more lucrative as I've developed my dice-influencing abilities well beyond what they were when I first started out.

If you have read anything this great fiction writer has written in the past few years now he is making way over the 100,000. mark every year, even claiming to take a cool half million off the craps table with, now get this a $2000 buy-in.  Now of course in that great piece of fiction he didn't come right out and say what he supposedly won, we had to do the math to figure it out with his claim of throwing all those 4's and 10's and how he said he was betting the game when that session was going on!

Quote:

Madprofessor
Long story short, I threw 13 PL-Point repeaters (covering only three PL-numbers, the 4, the 6, and the 10).  I did not max-out the table-limit of $50,000 on either of my Buy-bets; but I came ‘deliciously close’  on the Buy-4 (with the vig alone on my last 4, costing a whopping $2000; and the last Buy-bet vig that I paid, up-front, on the 10, which didn't produce another paying-hit after its most recent press, was $1750).

As I mentioned above, all 13 PL-Points only encompassed three numbers (the 4, the 6, and the 10).  For me, that in itself was a pretty high accomplishment that is rare as can be.  I’ve thrown 13-Pointers before; but never were they restricted to just three different box-numbers.

While his claim to fame took a little figuring out to do, we came up with around a cool half million win, on a $2000 buy-in!
If I was making that kind of money on the craps tables, I damn sure wouldn't be doing anything else.

MP owns Heavy

Poor MP got his feelings hurt after being embarrassed by everyone picking on him, so he PMed Heavy and gave Heavy an ultimatum that he was going to quit posting on Heavy's board if he did not ban SuperRick

Problem is without MP's BS, Heavy message board lacks any kind of substance ...

So Heavy goes back to teaching craps on his 8 foot tub in the woods of Texas as he gets owned by a Canadian BS artist .... just sad

MP = Mythomaniac Pathological ...

Addendum to  http://dicecraps.blogspot.com/search/label/Mad%20Professor:

It seems a few craps boards cannot survive on their own merit, so they allow a poster to embellish their boards with his myths unchecked in order to give them content without substance.  This fictional writer from Canada calls himself MP or Mad Professor.  Based on his postings, I contend MP stands for Mythomaniac Pathological.

Pathological liar or mythomaniac is someone that "may be suffering from histrionic personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder."
Some Characteristics
Exaggerates things that are ridiculous.
  • One-upping. Whatever you do, this person can do it better. You will never top them in their own mind, because they have a concerted need to be better than everyone else. This also applies to being right. If you try to confront an individual like this, no matter how lovingly and well-intentioned you might be - this will probably not be effective. It's threatening their fantasy of themselves, so they would rather argue with you and bring out the sharp knives than admit that there's anything wrong with them.
  • They "construct" a reality around themselves. They don't value the truth, especially if they don't see it as hurting anyone. If you call them on a lie and they are backed into a corner, they will act very defensively and say ugly things ..., but they may eventually start to act like, "Well, what's the difference? You're making a big deal out of nothing!" (again, to refocus the conversation to your wrongdoing instead of theirs). ...
  • Obviously, they will contradict what they say. This will become very clear over time. They usually aren't smart enough to keep track of so many lies (who would be?).
One familiar with MP's rants:
Actually Mad Professor does give a very straight ego-centric answer and because he has created his persona cloaked in anonymity, he can say whatever he wants without ever being held to any standard.  Some can consider this genius and still that anonymity has to frustrate him. This, does not make him a politician.  He has no constituents to answer for accountability. You have to know, if you read between the lines, he is basically stating: "you all can kiss my a$$" to all his detractors. He's gonna state whatever he wants and no one needs to hold him accountable. After all, if you don't know who he is, he can create whatever stories he wants.  Cowardly, if you ask me and insecure. For better or for worse, the authorities have placed them selves in the public eye and taken their lumps just like the rest of the community.
He subtly berates those he deems ignorant and praises those that stroke his proverbial peacock feathers.  ...
Many true dice players no longer operate on the same frequency as the MP and many other figures seen as authorities of the game in some shape of form.  Some figures have this incessant need to feel that they know everything far beyond anyone else and as long as there is an audience, regardless of which side they fall on his opinions, MP will continue to spew his wordy fantasies and you or I should not serve to dispute them.
In the end, it seems to me that it is about our own performance and how that translates into monetary results.  I don't care what his, or anyone else's, results are.  I only care about my own.
Pity the players who continue to feel the answer to mastering this game remains outside of themselves and religiously adheres to the fantastical results of someone else.
I believe DeadCat aka Vegas Baby that lives with his Mother and lost his job due to failing an ICE inspection can verify that this saying applies to MP's advice:

Another blow to the Mad Professor ...

Here is a recent post from a craps message board that does not like to give credit where credit is due, so I will return the favor:

I think everybody that uses this board would be heart-broken if your board went down, I would still be losing thousands if it wasn't for you and Irishsetter. I would still only be betting on myself, and would be missing out on some fantastic rolls at the tables. While I just play craps for the fun of it now, I was looking for something to do after I retired.

After reading some books and the accomplished trip reports on different crap boards, I surmised that I too could become a dice influencer. Well the journey was a costly one, until I read what you and Irishsetter were writing about dice influencers. It sounded to me that what you were saying in your writings was that, yes there are a sprinking of dice influencers that can get on large rolls, and they are merely getting lucky when they experienced their large rolls, just like everybody else. Even though they had skill with their shooting, you also needed some luck.

That was one of the points that had me thinking about what you were saying, unlike over on the Dice Institute, were I was led to believe (by it's co-owner Mad Professor), that I too could make fantastic money in my retirement just by playing craps. I was waiting for their Spring Fling where I thought that I would get to met their main writer, and the last living legend in the dice influeancers scene.

Unforgently I found out that he will always just be a legend, like the Captain, and that grown men can be made fools of too. You guys saved me when I realizing that I could be betting on everybody, and I would come out just about the same.
When I first bet on that hot chick in Caesars, and I made back 33 grand on her one roll, it was a life changing experience, if she could do it just by letting the dice fly down the table, why couldn't I do the same thing by setting the dice.
When the dice came to me I made 26 grand on my roll. I just felt that I couldn't do anything wrong after watching her roll. Don't ask how many rolls I had because, I was to caught up in the fun I was having at the time, and that was to long ago.

After reading what Irishsetter wrote about MP (Mad Professor), and that he just might be a wheelchair-bound quadriplegic, with research tools that would allow him to do research on all the casinos around the world. That was the real wake-up call for me.
After my trip to Uruguay with my old girl friend, where it was fun in the sun and the great night life, I have been practicing again, and I have moved on to a different girl friend that is a few years older, I couldn't keep up with the last one, she was just to young, for an old guy like me.
I will still go to Vegas as it's a fun-filled life style, and when I go out, I'm going out with a bang, I hope to continue following your forum, and maybe see a book out of you and Irishsetter.
I would like to see a chapter or two on betting, where everybody could learn something about the game, I have been betting what they all say is Hawaiian style, after meeting a few of the Hawaiians that come into Caesars, yes I know that it isn't the best way there is to bet, and that I will take some big hits betting this way, especially with big money on the tables.
With the new girl friend, we spend a lot of time taking in the shows, and going to the many fine restaurants that Vegas has to offer.
If you close down your forum, none of the players would be able to read any reality about craps, you guys have a great way of educating your forum members, keep up the good work, and maybe come back with a class once a year, if I took your class to start with, I wouldn't have been losing thousands of dollars, what was I thinking, when I was reading about the living legend?
Thanks please keep up the board, some of us do not like to post, but love reading the knowledge that you and others have on this forum.
I'm back in Vegas for a few weeks, and maybe will do a trip rport before we leave again.

Thanks
Bigbill

Heavy's Mad Professor theory ...

Now that Mad Professor has his own website and is a competitor of Heavy's online craps boards, Heavy has developed a new theory on the Mad Professor ..... heard on the floor of a Mississippi casino this past weekend was Heavy's new theory that Mad Professor is actually 5 different people

Heavy has endorsed the Mad Professor for many years professionally on his own website .... so just when and how did Heavy develop this theory that MP is actually writing for 5 people ??

- was it because of people like SuperRick that has proven his many writings to be fictional (see ProCraps4u2 ) or
- was it because we have exposed many of MP's inconsistencies on this website including that:

..... MP has not been to Las Vegas in the last 5 years or
..... that MP talked to his buddy DeadCat almost an hour everyday to get info about what was happening in Las Vegas or
..... the fact that MP is always blogging from his Canadian residence when he says he is at some casino somewhere

..... or is Heavy up to his typical age old insecure tactics of downgrading the competition like he does so often.

Mad Professor – the "Wizard of Oz" ....

My apologies to the readers for the following negatively toned thread ...... for the most part, I absolutely despise personal attacks against others in the Dice Community as it usually just a distraction from the real issues at hand. HOWEVER, there are a few out there that enjoy stroking their egos by embellishing to the point that their fictional and theoretical writings may sound smooth, but it does not give a realistic view of live casino craps.

so I apologize for entering into this thread and I hope that most of you will stop now and not read it ..... for others that are as much a "Retard" as I and can not help themselves, I hope the following is a little entertaining and not a total waste of time & bandwidth ....

see Hangover clip for definition of "Retard":
http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=dqQ8AHCrCtw

A few of us that play craps most everyday refer to Mad Professor (MP) as the "Wizard of Oz" - hiding behind a curtain and his monitor instead of on live casino tables ....

... now don't get me wrong - I will be the 1st person to advise every craps player to read everything MP writes (don't have to buy his book cause it is just a copy of his internet postings) ..... but after you read each of his well crafted words, take a step back and think about what you just read --- for the most part, MP's writings are just basic common sense about the game we all love

as a good friend and mentor of mine noted, waayy tooo many of us get caught up in our own "aimlessly chasing MP story" --- I am guilty of that, but may the Dice Gods curse me with a day of PSOs if I ever just blindly grab onto MP's coattails like so many do

What we do know about MP (mostly obtained from monitoring his editings on his FaceBook page):
  •  MP's real name is Paul L.(blah-blah French name)

  •  he lives in Hamilton, ON (near King Street East between Spadina Avenue and Melrose Ave South) --- that's Canada, a place not well known for it's craps players & it's a far cry from anything close to resembling Las Vegas ...
  •  MP's email address is: mad_6_8_professor@hotmail.com
  • MP has over 101 albums of car pictures on his FaceBook page ... that's albums, with each album averaging about 70 individual pictures of cars or roughly 7,000 car pictures
  •  no one I know has ever seen him shoot anywhere except in a few of his local casinos in Canada and across the border in NY, yet he claims in his "Bible" to make nearly $400,000. annually from craps and from constantly traveling all over the world -- all done with mainly $5. to $25. bets on himself -- not betting on anyone else at the table .... to mathematically do this, MP would have to have:
  1.  60 rolls every time he touched the dice;
  2.  have no PSOs;
  3.  power press on himself;
  4.  play more than the few hours he claims to play each week;
  5.  take helicopters and borrow Tiger Woods' jet to travel to every casino he claims to play in all year long (thereby eliminating travel time so that he puts in enough time on the tables)
AND if he did make that much $$$ every year playing craps, then he would have absolutely never enough time:
  • to write all his writings;
  • to talk to all his casino friends to get the info about where they play (and then pens it himself as if he were there);
  • AND most importantly, MP would never have enough time to post all his car pictures on the internet on at least 2 different websites (Dice Institute and Face Book) ....
if there ever was something so close to imposterization, I would dare say it has been done perfectly by the man behind the curtain and his monitor - the Mad Professor

...... and if we give him the benefit of the doubt of making $1,000. per day then he would have to play 400 days per year to equal his claim of $400,000. per year (see page 295 of MP's "Crapshooting Bible")

- and that would include ZERO Loss Days per year ::)(MP even vaguely alludes that he may have several "losing for a few days" sessions on page 296)

- and on top of his fictitious writings, I believe his accomplishments are way overstated ... how can he get $400,000 per year averaging "4 or 5 days per week" (page 21, yet he has recently posted on DI.com that he now plays less) at $1,000. per day ...... he just does not add up in the real world ???

4.5 days x $1,000 x 52 weeks = $234,000 or more than 40% LESS than what he claims he makes IF he is perfect for the year & has ZERO losing days ..... and also assumes he takes zero vacation weeks

As noted by one of our fellow CAPers:
"Has anyone ever seen both the Mad Professor and the Captain in the same place at the same time?? Oops, wait, no one has ever seen either of them. My bad...Has anyone ever not seen both of them in the same place at the same time??? Wait, that doesn't make any sense. But then, much of what we hear doesn't! LoL"

Dave

On several occasions Mad Professor has made posts that are not factually true, thereby adding credibility that all his exploits are not for real ... consider what the popular but never seen Craps ghost author - Mad Professor - posted the following without an accredited cite on May 6, 2008 on http://diceinstitute.proboards.com/:

... with the recent announcement by Harrah’s that they are increasing the maximum Fire-bet limit from $5 to $25, thereby moving the upper maximum-payout for this wager from $5,000 to $25,000

so I thought I would hit the Strip to see if there was any truth to this rumor ..... dealers & Boxes at Bally's & Caesars knew nothing of this news and as of today -- over a year and a half after Mad Professor made this erroneous post and no one in the world has raised their Fire Bet to $25. ......

1st - the maximum Harrah's Fire Bet is not $5 as MP posted, but $10 on several Vegas properties including Caesar's, Rio, Paris, Bally's and Harrah's --- if the Mad Professor was for real and actually played the Fire Bet on a real table instead of stealing information from outdated internet resources like the Wizard of Odds, he would have easily known the maximum Harrah's Fire Bet was not $5 as he posted;

2nd - it can not be arbitrarily done without the State Gaming Commission approving the higher payouts unless they originally had the $25 option approved with their original application .....

I seriously doubt this is the case ...... Mad Professor went on to explain in his post that sometimes he will ask the Boxman to allow higher bets on the Fire Bet and they would make exceptions for him ..... again I contend this is not possible without State Gaming Board approval in advance

even irishsetter is agreeing with our MP allegations that MPaul's posts are more unrealistic theories than probable when he posted on Heavy's Forum ( http://axispower.proboards.com/ ) :

... I'm going to say something, and I'm sure it'll be also taken out of context by MP and the Short Bus cut and paste brigade. The BoneTracker edge-determination is ALREADY mostly meaningless unless you add some variables. ...

So, when you say a player should place " the lion's share of your betting-weight on your top one or two box-numbers," it's an oversimplified answer, with a largely overstated ROI figure attached to it. The fact is, I think a player should wager largely on those numbers that have historically appeared. However, I think players need to have alternative plans of action, and a more realistic view of profit potential because our edge is dynamic. If you were to cut up a large sample of BT data, and take snap shots at different times, the edge on given numbers will be dynamic depending on where in the sample set, size of the sub set etc. The problem with using BT as the end all is if the sample size is too small, then the data is subject to normal variance. When the sample size gets too large, there's a smoothing effect.

So, feel free to lead players down a primrose path with your simplistic view. I have no doubt that some members will discount my point of view. But I also have no doubt that many players have disappeared from the DI community over the years because they believed your over simplified, overstated and over-hyped predictive model.
 And a reply to this quote:
Re: Debunking the "Wizard of Oz" ....
Post by The Lion on Feb 18, 2010, 8:17pm

When we say it we get ripped, but when Irish says it he gets applause. Well Irish, you have finally gotten my applause too! Absofknlutely well said! The naive misuse of BT included. MP propaganda is just that. He mostly plays at home, not for real in casinos. So the pied piper HAS led many to the abyss.

A great teacher who could not perform in the function that he was teaching once said: I can teach but I can't do, and I am a great teacher. WHY? Because I have spent decades refining the sound bytes that will teach you what you need to know and REMEMBER UNDER STRESS.

MP has done just that. He has issued resonating sound bytes from his fictional expertise and those sound bytes have led the lemmings over the cliff.

Thank you Irish for putting it all in one post succinctly. Did I say we agree?!

And thank you Harley for the cut and paste here. Now, I hope Irish reads it. And MP.
........ seriously, isn't it sad when 1 computer simulator attacks another theorists --- I guess it takes one to know one --- here's another post by irishsetter attacking MP on Heavy's board:
Quote:
« Result #9 on Feb 17, 2010, 5:59pm »

... my historical data indicates no such thing can be said of MP, so my predictive model indicates that we'll see more, unwitnessed, unverifiable, over simplified, theoretical clap-trap from him in the future.

BTW, nice cherry-picking/manipulation of data for shooterx, MP. The next time I do analysis, I'll only use the data that suits my theory and omit that which does not.

...... I will later post more examples to debunk more of his postings
